Evaluation of Target Value Delivery and Opportunity Management as Complementary Practices

Opportunity management and Target Value Delivery (TVD) have both been studied extensively but separately. The two approaches presented as solutions for increasing value in a project the owner users. However, it seems there has not much research that addresses link between approaches. purpose of this study is to increase knowledge how TVD can facilitate opportunity management. results from literature review are compared with practice cases: large infrastructure building project. showed lack inherent motivation change innovation organization. identified opportunities were aimed mainly at maximizing project’s operational keeping costs within approved budget. handle extensive attention maintain end-users. Besides, target cost element complement by creating incentives be flexible about innovation. This paper’s originality combine well-established many similarities yet explored relation each other.
